Architect & Project Manager
Prague, Czech Republic | 2018
Gastro and culture market that transformed a former wasteland in the heart of Prague into a landmark in its own right.
The project revived a forgotten corner of a “no-go zone” and offered a mix of use and activities from food and beverage to cultural happenings, DJs, summer cinema, and workshops—creating hundreds of jobs in an otherwise-forgotten space in the very center of Prague.
The design was born from a student concept, which we materialized into a community hosting 25 small local, creative, and gastro-focused businesses. It also created gastro-incubators for chefs to create and test new ideas and concepts while the space was marketed as a collective by the Manifesto team.
Manifesto Market went from idea to realization in just 18 months and was a truly collaborative project, connecting good ideas with resources. It was initiated by the founder of the non-profit organization reSITE, Martin Barry, in collaboration with the local cultural powerhouse, Aerofilms. Manifesto was the first fully cashless place in the Czech Republic and one of the first in Central Europe, thanks to a partnership with Mastercard.
